General Questions

The requirement for the Ontario Immigration Nominee Program defers from program to program. The applicant must have Express Entry profile for the migration in Canada. The eligibility for this stream is dependent on both federal and provincial criteria. Both of these sets of requirements need to be satisfied if the applicant would like to apply for Canadian permanent residence under this stream. In terms of the federal requirements, the applicant must have a valid profile in the Express Entry pool; either eligible for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) or Federal Skilled Worker Program. It indicate that the applicant have an interest in migration to Ontario and have received a Notification of Interest from Ontario.  The requirements for the Ontario Immigration Nominee Program (OINP) are age, qualification, employment experience, language proficiency and settlement funds.

The liberal policies, the relaxed eligibility criteria, the smooth screening process, and the fast processing time make Ontario the best destination for the migrants and leave a long-lasting impression in the minds of applicants.

To apply for Ontario PNP, you need to follow the below process steps:

Eligibility Check- If the applicant wishes to apply under the Ontario Provincial Nominee Program he/she should check the eligibility first, whether they are meeting predefined criteria in terms of Profile, Age, points score, language proficiency requirements, etc.

Express Entry Profile Creation- The applicant needs to create an Express Entry profile in the Express Entry Pool organized by IRCC, reflecting that he/she is interested in migrating to Ontario.

Apply for the nomination- If the applicant receives a Notification of Interest (NOI) from the province of Ontario through your IRCC. However, a Notification of Interest (NOI) does not guarantee that the application will be approved.

Documents Submission- After the applicant gets the Notification of Interest he/she has to submit all the documents. The documents then go through a quality check & credential verification. If the Ontario Provincial Nominee Program officer finds any ground to believe that the claims are inaccurate, the application will be refused.

Apply for Permanent Residency- The applicant then apply for the permanent residence. The estimated processing times of the Ontario Provincial Nominee Program depend upon the stream under which the applicant has applied.

Due to its already large immigrant population, Ontario was the last province to introduce a provincial nominee program in 2007. The introduction of the system created more opportunities for newcomers to Canada to economically establish them within the province and gave Ontario the ability to select individuals who would be a good fit and fill gaps in the workforce. Each Canadian province and territory (except for Quebec and Nunavut) operates their own Provincial Nominee Programs.
