In the most recent Express Entry draw, IRCC issued 4,300 ITAs.

The fifteenth Express Entry draw for 2023 was held by the IRCC. In an all-program draw, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited 4,300 candidates.

A minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 486 is necessary for candidates.

Following the draw on June 8, this was the second of the month. In that draw, 4,800 candidates were invited in an all-program draw, and candidates had to have a minimum CRS cut-off score of 486.

There are presently 82 occupations that are eligible for category-based selection.

On May 31, IRCC stated that it would begin holding drawings for Express Entry candidates who fall into six additional categories later this summer. The categories are as follows:

  • healthcare
  • science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) professions
  • trades, such as carpenters, plumbers and contractors
  • transport
  • agriculture and agri-food
  • Strong French-speaking abilities

Express Entry candidates who have either the required work or language experience in specified occupations within these categories will get Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in these new draws.

IRCC says the categories were chosen based on discussions with the provinces, territories, and other stakeholders. IRCC will include the results of the draws, and their success, in the yearly report to parliament. The department says categories can change from year to year.
