Express Entry
Express Entry is an online system used by the Canadian authorities to manage the migration applications they receive from pool from skilled workers.
The Express Entry pool manages 3 kinds of migration programs for the following 3 categories:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program
- Canadian Experience Class
- Federal Skilled Trades Program
The Federal government decides whether the candidate is eligible for programs managed by the Express Entry stream. These skilled workers are those who have the required education, foreign employment experience, Canadian employment experience and qualified in a skilled trade.
In general, the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) stream is for those applicants who have at least one year of skilled employment experience. In 2021, more than 50 percent of total PRs extended to Indian through the FSW program.
Eligible candidates accepted into the Express Entry pool and ranked according to the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).
Provincial Nominee Program (PNPs)
The unique migration program is offered by thirteen provinces and territories of Canada. These are very popular with people who are not able to make it through the CRS point system.
Out of a total of 232,500 immigrants targeted for 2021, 80,800 are reserve for those applying under the PNPs. There has been a three-fold increase in the number of invitations in PNP-specific Express Entry draws in 2021 as compared to 2020.
The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is for people who have a low Comprehensive Ranking System; due to higher Age / Low IELTS score and those who are able to get 600 points to crack the Express Entry draws. For instance, the Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSW) is for those who have the required skills and who are willing to be a part of the Quebec work force.
